Your vocational training is our concern
Apprentices of GEA Brewery Systems in Kitzingen report about two informative days at the 14th job fair at the Commercial School Kitzingen.
After setting up the information stand, the team meeting with the trainers starts.
Few minutes later, the first interested students are approaching our information stand, where a lot of information material about all our apprenticeships is provided. Some teenagers are accompanied by their parents, others are on their own.
The first student confidently comes up to us and asks bluntly what apprenticeship we are doing and whether we can tell him more about the company. As the student is interested in several career options, we describe the different areas where he can work in our company, from the workshop to the office.
"GEA Brewery Systems is part of the GEA Group, a technology group with about 250 companies at the moment. It is the competence centre in the brewing industry. For example, the equipment for complete breweries is provided from a single source, similar to a turnkey home. In Kitzingen, it is possible to do an apprenticeship as an industrial manager, technical product designer, mechatronic, industrial mechanic and construction mechanic."
As he is looking at our display boards, the student notices the statistics of the results of the final exams in the last 20 years. He is very impressed and asks how we like the vocational training.
"The company provides a good apprenticeship, because trainers and colleagues pass on the specific know-how and the company supplies the required teaching material. For example, in our training workshop, special courses about different subjects are held and we are excellently prepared e.g. for exams with in-house training. With our three trainers, we have competent experts around who can answer any question we have. Therefore, even issues that are not sufficiently dealt with in vocational school can be clarified and intensified. Furthermore, every apprentice works in several different departments, is integrated in the production process and gains insight in other professions related to his own job in order to understand the connection between them and how all processes run smoothly."
Before the student leaves the stand, we give him some information material about the apprenticeship programs and about our company. Maybe we can soon welcome a new colleague.
