Energize your Career!

GEA Group provides ambitious university graduates with the opportunity to join an international operating organization. A trainee program, offered for both commercial and engineering fields, aim at preparing graduates for future management tasks in an innovative and internationally challenging environment.

The GEA Trainee program got rewarded as career-enhancing and fair Trainee-program.

The reward is an initiative of Absolventa GmbH, a jobportal for students, graduates and young professionals and was developed in cooperation with the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich. Companies who are offering a Trainee program, which fulfills the defined quality criteria of the Charta of career-enhancing and fair Trainee programs get the reward.

Those criteria relate amongst others to a modular structure of the program in which Trainees get the opportunity to get to know different parts of the company, participate in development measures and are assigned with responsible tasks right from the beginning. An appropriate compensation as well as evaluations of the Trainee program are further important criteria.

We are looking for young talents with integrity, the willingness to take on responsibility, the ambition to continuously improve skills, the pleasure on exchange of knowledge and experiences across borders, cultures and segments and most importantly the passion for what they are doing.

During a period of 18 months, trainees rotate between different locations in Europe and abroad. While gaining hands-on experience on the job, young professionals are challenged to take the lead for own projects and, thus, continuously receive the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their abilities and skills.

Trainee programs are offered for example in the following areas:

  • Human Resources
  • Controlling & Accounting & Finance
  • Marketing
  • Product Management
  • Project Management
  • Manufacturing
  • R&D

Please note: Engineering trainee programs are offered in our segments only.

The following chart will give you an overview about possible phases of our trainee program which are accompanied by review dialogs and development measures:

Our traineeships have a modular structure consisting of learning units within our Headquarters, our Segment Headquarters or a foreign entity. Thus, we consider our traineeships as learning on the job. The number of the phases as well as the duration however may vary depending on the area of the trainee program.

Furthermore, all trainees receive training to improve their skills on “international presentations” during their employment. In case learning units in one of our foreign entities require additional cultural and/or language training, there will be a preparation in advance.

Trainees get supported in building up an international network among themselves as well as with former trainees by the realization of additional cross-segmental trainee projects, a common visitation of a GEA booth at a trade fair and a central kick-off-event. Former trainees offer sponsorship so that a mutual exchange of experiences gets encouraged.

Moreover production facility visitations and product trainings including information about the sales process provide our trainees an insight into the portfolio of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft.
